Essa Touray - Professional Bird Guide
We met Essa a day before our Gambian trip would end and i'm glad we met and made the birdwatch. To be honest i wasn't too excited about it in beforehand, but as we talked, walked and saw some bird's the day before with Essa i was convinced that it could be nice way to spend our last morning before leaving back to cold Finland from the warm Gambia.
So we met Essa on the morning at our hotel and he took us to the Kotu bridge where everything started. Essa was kind to lend me his own binocular's as Tuija had the others which we rented through Essa. In our 2 and half hour walk we saw 73 different birds. Essa kindly wrote all birds down on paper which we got little bit later on front of our hotel, while we were waiting for our bus to airport. While waiting the bus we had some time to enjoy some cold drinks.
The time was well spent and i hope to make it again with him. If you are going to Gambia and like to have a professional bird guide as your guide don't hesitate to contact him as a group or alone. He will be happy to be your guide!
